Our commitment to a responsible future
At ANICRIN, we believe that true progress comes from respecting people and the environment. For us, sustainability means taking responsibility for our impact and acting every day to reduce it — creating long-term value for the community and future generations. We have embarked on a transformation journey that places environmental care, people empowerment, and transparent governance at the heart of our business. Our goal is to build an ethical, innovative, and enduring model of enterprise that generates positive impact beyond performance.


Our sustainability journey
In 2024, we completed our first ESG assessment through the Synesgy platform, obtaining a “C – Satisfactory” rating. This result confirms our alignment with national best practices and marks the beginning of our path toward continuous improvement in sustainability performance. We are also transforming ANICRIN S.r.l. into a Benefit Corporation, officially embedding care for people and the environment into our corporate purpose. This milestone reflects our vision: combining innovation, responsibility, and positive impact in a transparent and purpose-driven way of doing business.

 

Environment
As an energy-intensive company, we are fully aware of our environmental footprint. Starting in 2025, we have committed to using 100% certified renewable energy, with the goal of significantly reducing our carbon footprint. We have invested € 2.3 million in energy-efficient machinery, including a new press for the BCSU device, capable of lowering electricity consumption by up to 35%. In our first ESG reporting year (2024), we calculated our greenhouse gas emissions:

  • 41.41 tons of CO₂ (Scope 1)
  • 495.41 tons of CO₂ (Scope 2)

These figures establish a clear baseline from which to define measurable reduction targets and strengthen our environmental strategy.

 

People
We invest in their well-being, continuous learning, and in creating a healthy, balanced, and inspiring workplace where everyone can thrive.
Our key initiatives include:

  • On-site physiotherapy – An in-house mobile clinic offering prevention programs and personalized treatments to promote physical well-being and reduce the risk of injuries.
  • Prevention programs – Activities dedicated to health and safety awareness and self-care.
  • Continuous training – Language courses and professional development programs to enhance skills and growth opportunities.
  • iMiCOACH – A corporate psychological support service that fosters emotional and professional well-being.

Each initiative reflects our belief that taking care of people means taking care of the company.

 

Governance
In 2025, we began the process of transforming ANICRIN into a Benefit Corporation, formally including care for people and the environment in our company bylaws. This step reinforces our long-term commitment to transparency, ethics, and accountability, and to creating shared value beyond profit. We are aware of the challenges in our industry: our products, designed for medical and diagnostic use, are made of single-use plastic, as there are currently no safe and effective alternatives. Nevertheless, we believe that acknowledging and mitigating our impact is the first step toward maximizing the positive value we can generate.

 

Looking ahead the future of sustainability
We are developing a double materiality matrix to better understand the financial and non-financial impacts of our activities and guide our sustainability strategy with clarity and purpose. We have also started the EcoVadis certification process, aiming to measure and continuously improve our ESG performance. By recognizing our impact, embracing transparency, and committing to constant progress, we choose to be part of the solution.
